Thank you for taking an interest in my class! I have been honing my skills as an artist for many years, practicing both traditional art with pens and pencils, as well as digital art. I am a freelance artist working through commissions and English teacher. Though I primarily focus on illustrative art and character design, I also have experience creating assets for indie games, creating stamp templates, logos and branding, and in simple animation. I also have technical art experience creating blueprints and design specifications, backed up by my experience as a quality control professional. Because of this breadth of experience, I view art as the pursuit of self expression as well as a utility skill. I do not utilize AI tools either personally or professionally, as I believe the capacity for self reliance and flexibility as an artist is more important than any single end-product. It is this self expression, self reliance, and confidence that I want to pass on to you.

Our classes will be focused on practical experience and collaborative work. You will be drawing a lot. To start with, I will ask that you show me some of your artwork, both digital and traditional are accepted. From there, you and I will break down what is going on in the image, the skills I see you highlight and we will learn your strengths as an artist.
During class, we will focus on developing a particular skill, whether that be line confidence, anatomy, etc. I will then assign you homework based around that skill, the homework consisting of practice utilizing that skill. At the start of the next class we will work through collaborative critique.
My goal is to help you develop your own style and artistic identity to help you gain confidence in your abilities. I focus on skill and technique. The goal is not to create perfection or subjective 'appeal', but quality and clarity of intent.
I teach all skill levels of art, however applicants should be aware that classes are taught in English. Beginners and those without experience are encouraged to apply. Owning a drawing tablet is encouraged, but not required. We will only use free programs, and occasionally we might use traditional mediums if it would be beneficial.
